We offer Structural Design Engineering Services, primarily for High-End Custom Single-Family Residential Structures in the Greater Charleston Area
(Charleston, Berkeley, & Dorchester Counties).
The majority of these Residences are located in the Town of Mt. Pleasant, the Town of Daniel Island (located within the City of Charleston), and the
Barrier Sea Islands of the Isle of Palms, Sullivans Island, Kiawah Island & Seabrook Island.

Senior Structural Design and Forensic Engineering Expert George W. Sanford, PE, is a Licensed/Registered Professional Engineer in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, and Iowa. He has over 34 years of Engineering experience in the Structural discipline, specializing in rotating & reciprocation industrial machinery design, Nuclear containers, reactor components, and decontamination systems design, industrial structures design, marine structures design, stationary/static structure design (i.e., buildings and houses), design of all manner building components comprised of all types of engineering materials, foundation design, structural-integrity related inspections/observations/recommendations and other matters, and is a Structural Forensic Engineering Expert. George holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina, Graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1988. At NC State, George was a Brother of the Beta Tau Chapter of the Sigma Nu Fraternity, and served on the University's Intrafraternity Council.
George has an extensive background in the design and forensic analysis of residential, commercial, municipal, and industrial structures and their foundations, framing, and other structural components. Throughout his Career, George has designed and performed structural analysis of an extensive array of structures, supervised engineers, drafters, and designers, prepared construction documents (i.e, drawings and technical specifications), and provided the onsite duties of Shop and Field supervisor and inspector for many large manufacturing and construction projects. He also has extensive experience in Engineering Project Management, and Structural Forensic Engineering Expertise, through which he supports Attorneys in the Manufacturing and Construction Litigation Arena of the Legal Profession, and the Insurance Adjusting Industry.
George has an in-depth knowledge of many Building Codes, ASTM, AISC, ACI, and other Standards, and the Rules and Regulations related to the Standards of Common Practice in the Manufacturing and Construction Industries. He is a member of the International Code Council (ICC), which is the agency which governs and provides guidance to professional building designers. He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Structural Engineering Institute (SEI), American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), Concrete Reinforcing Steel Institute (CRSI), and the American Concrete Institute (ACI).
